Dr Francis Cowe

 

Dr Francis Cowe is Director of Further Education Partnerships at University of South Wales and is responsible for the strategic development of Degree Apprenticeships at USW. He represents the four Universities in South East Wales on the Cardiff Capital Region Skills Board and is a Governor at Cardiff and Vale College.

 

He has experience of developing provision for a range of sectors including Criminal Justice, Pharmaceutical, STEM, Digital Technology, Health and Social Care, Police, Probation and Third Sector. He has set up and developed a range of applied courses and designed practice placements, staff CPD courses for managers and supervised applied research projects. He is used to working at a regional and national level.

 

He led the South East Wales Innovation and Engagement work with four Universities and five Colleges focusing on Compound Semi Conductor, Design and Film and TV School Wales. He has assisted in reviewing bids, policy and publications for government and international publishers. He previously worked as the Deputy Director in UHOVI. He has won and held national and regional contracts and supported employers in securing appropriate funds and expertise to meet their education and training requirements including supporting inward investors. He is used to working with government, private and third sector organisations. He has worked on national course developments with the Ministry of Justice, Sector Skills Councils, Partner Universities and FE Colleges.
