Guy Lacey
Guy has been the Principal & Chief Executive of Coleg Gwent since 2015, having previously worked in a number of other senior roles in the College. He is also the current Chair of Colegau Cymru – the voice of Further Education in Wales.
Guy is an experienced teacher and manager in Further Education and training.
After leaving school Guy worked for a number of years with Lloyds Bank following an in-house management development programme. He then returned to study, reading History and Politics at Oxford Brookes University. After completing his degree he went on to the University of Bath gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education before starting a teaching career.
Guy has experience of a number of UK schools & colleges in the last 25 years, gaining knowledge of a wide range of approaches to the delivery of skills and training to meet the needs of young people and adults. In addition Guy worked as a GCSE examiner for the University of Cambridge examinations syndicate and worked as a peer Inspector with Estyn for over ten years.
